Ogler kindly hosted this event in Jersey from 18 to 20 September 2014.
The AGM was held in The Grand which was located in the centre of St Helier in lovely surroundings opposite the beach and is close to Ogier’s offices.
The topic was “Cyber Crime + Law Firms in the 21st Century”. Our two external speakers Mark Johnson (Cyber Crime) and Chrissie Lightfoot (Law Firms in the 21st Century) gave enthusiastic presentations on their respective topics which gave the attendees much to think about as to how both aspects could affect their own law firms in the future. Our own Peter Brautigam of Noerr LLP gave a very enthusiastic presentation on dealing with a data breach and Mario Matteo Magistrelli of Ughi e Nunziante Studio Legale also spoke.
That evening there was a drinks reception in Ogier’s offices on the Thursday evening following which we dined at Banjo Restaurant, a European-style grand brasserie.
The AGM was held in The Grand Hotel on the Friday and spouses and partners were taken to La Mare Vineyards for a private estate and tasting tour followed by lunch.
Pre-dinner drinks were held at The Grand Hotel followed by a small coach journey to The Beach House Restaurant for dinner. The Beach House was an impressive venue set in a unique seaside location with uninterrupted views across St Brelades Bay.
A guided tour of Jersey was organised on the Saturday morning, followed by lunch at Feast. Feast with the best views of the harbour!
Our events ended with dinner at the Salty Dog restaurant, set in the heart of St Aubins harbour.
We would like to thank our hosts for all their hard work in producing an excellent event.
